Obituary of Eleanor K Glover

LUGOFF - A memorial service for Eleanor K. Glover, 80, will be held Monday at 4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Rev. Ernest Rabon and Rev. David Robinson will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, PO Box 664, Lugoff, S.C. 29078 or Hospice of Kershaw County, 2001 West DeKalb Street, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mrs. Glover, wife of the late George M. Glover, Jr., died Friday, June 20, 2008. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Alexis and Minnie Alice Blizzard King and was the last of seventeen children. She wrote the Lugoff News for the Camden Chronicle and served with the Welcome Wagon for 18 years. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol Auxiliary. Mrs. Glover and her husband were very active with the Lugoff-Elgin High School Band Club, where they were known as the “Band Grandparents”. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Surviving are sons, William L. Glover and his wife, Linda of Camden, George M. Glover, III, of Elgin, and Bryan A. “Lex” Glover of Lugoff; daughters, Connie Glover Eubanks and her husband, Buster of Jefferson, and Dawn Glover Patterson and her husband, Bill of Camden; grandchildren, Robin Lynn Eubanks, William E. Glover, Erin Elizabeth Patterson, Anna Marie Patterson, Kristy E. Bartlett, Ginger Caesar and Greta McAvoy; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Craven, Riley and Jameson Bartlett, Nicholas and Benjamin Caesar and Molly McAvoy.
