ELGIN – The family of Charles Ernest McAlhaney, 62, will receive friends on Monday 3-5 p.m. at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Food For The Soul, 110 East DeKalb Street, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mr. McAlhaney passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015. Born in Reevesville, S.C., he was the son of the late James Bellinger and Carrie Dukes McAlhaney. He retired after 33 years with CSC in Blythewood. He was an avid Clemson fan and enjoyed gardening. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Myra June Drinkard McAlhaney; siblings, James McAlhaney of Summerville, Carroll McAlhaney (Sandra) of St. George, S.C., Sylvia Norton of Blythewood, Terry McAlhaney (Palmer) of North Charleston, Rosemary Crowe of Reevesville, S.C., and Don McAlhaney of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; sister-in-law, Delaine McAlhaney; father and mother-inlaw, James and Ila Mae Drinkard; brothers-in-law, John Drinkard (Vivian), Tommy Drinkard (Kathy), and Stephen Drinkard; dog, “Ulee”; and cat, “George”. He was predeceased by brother, Dennis McAlhaney; and sister, Lynda Ferkovics.
