Obituary of Mary Bryant Ballew

MYRTLE BEACH - Funeral service for Mary Bryant Ballew, 71, will be Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Kershaw County Animal Shelter.

Mrs. Ballew passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, after battling with health issues for many years. Born in Hartsville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Junie Boardman Bryant and Mary Elizabeth Williams Bryant (Clyde Lackey). Mary loved the Lord, and was very loving, caring and giving. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, shopping at Belk, and going to the beach.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Kevin Peake; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale Thompkins and Robert and Megan Ballew; grandchildren, Grace Dickey (Nashoba Davis), Hunter Thompkins (Brooke), Allison Griffin (Jay), Dalton Taylor, Zachary Thompkins, and Londyn Ballew; 4 great-grandchildren; her companion, Jerry Brown and his son, Jared Brown (Priscilla) and their children, Logan, Trent, and McKenzie, and Brittany Brown and her children, Landon and Gavin; siblings, Betty Lee, Reggie Bell, Barry Bryant, June Bryant, and Ernie Bell. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry D. Ballew; and sister, Beckey Ann Holt.
