Obituary of Michael Stephen Shaw

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Michael Stephen Shaw, 77, will be held on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Camden, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.    Memorial may be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Mr. Shaw passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023.  Born in Camden, he was the son of the late John Daniel Shaw Sr. and Lucille McLain Shaw.  He served in The United States Marine Corp and served in Vietnam.  He retired from DuPont with 42 years of service.

Mr. Shaw was a member of the Marine Corp League Attachment 1146, Military Order of Devil Dogs Pound 340 and the American Legion Post 17.  He was also a member of the Gideons International, Masonic Lodge Kershaw 29 and the Jamil Shrine. Mr. Shaw was an avid golfer.

Surviving are his wife, Faye Charlene Bradshaw Shaw; son, Michael Kevin Shaw (Pamela); daughter, Angela Dianne Shaw; brothers, Richard Everett Shaw (Paula); sister, Meredith Morris (Johnny); sister-in-law, Fredda Shaw;  and grandchildren, Peyton Shaw and Peirce Shaw.  He was predeceased by a brother, John Daniel Shaw, Jr.
