This is the last time I visted with the Dancho girls. I connected with Carey on Facebook when she wanted to know more about the Souders side of the family. Family was so important to her and I so enjoyed her posts with photos with Shawn, Stephen, and Cassie. Take comfort in her full life and love of life.

Carey was always 'Care Bear' to me both at work and as a friend and she was always there for support, commiseration, laughter and celebration equally! She would help anyone who needed it but also did not 'suffer fools kindly' which was one of her finest qualities in my opinion. She ADORED her children and was always proud of their achievements and who they were becoming as people. I will miss her steadfast friendship and quick wit in my life.
Love you always my friend.

Tom and Family,
We were so sad to hear about Carey.
I remember her as a small child with her sisters sitting together in Church.
God’s Love, Peace and Comfort be with you all.

We all called her ‘Mama Bear’ because of how protective she could get of all of us and how helpful she always was.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Dancho - Merriweather Family. I am absolutely saddened and yet honored to have met and served ministerially with Elder Carey. May the perfect peace of God overtake the family, and all affected during their time of bereavement and beyond. With love and prayers, Nancy

Carey was a great boss, friend and and mentor. She made work a place I loved to come to each day. Her caring and compassion for those around her was immense. My favorite thing about Carey was her sense of humor. When I would come to ask a question, often time the answer of "purple" was given with the second most frequent response was a question in return. "Are we going to burn it down"? She always had our backs here at work and cared deeply for all that worked for her. We will miss her so much. I am so sorry for the loss of my friend. Prayers for the family are being lifted up.

I remember when I first started working in Automated Analysis I was so nervous around people I didn't know. I stayed pretty quite and nervous around Carey for a month or two as she was such bright in your face type of person that didn't take any non-sense from anyone. She seemed to know everything and I found it intimidating. I wasn't used to being around someone like that and wasn't sure how to handle it. The ice broke for me when I was trying to do something I had been shown once or twice before but since Carey was helping me I was blundering it up because I was nervous. She got so fed up with me she walked away and muttered under her breath that I was an idiot. I'm not sure why after that I became less nervous and started to open up to her more, but that was the moment something seemed to click in my brain and she became a wonderful friend who gave me advise and looked out for me on top of being such an amazing coworker. I loved having our lab discussions between Carey, Eric, and I where we would just talk about anything and everything, from work, to family, to friends, and just some random things that just somehow popped up out of no where. I will miss her dearly as she was taken from us much to early.
