Frances, You don't know me. My name is Reg Brown. I am one of those Edsel guys who would visit with Bob whenever I was in the neighborhood. I first met Bob at an Edsel event 20-25 years ago. He told me he had 22 Edsels out in the woods. I first came to his shop when I moved here from Michigan in 1998. He was a legend in the Edsel Owners Club. He remembered meeting my Dad back in the1990's, Roy Brown, was the Chief Designer of the Edsel . I saw Bob for the last time about 10 days before he died. I came by there last week and could tell by the long grass and the look of no recent activity that something was wrong. I got a hunch that he was gone. Bob and I had been planning to get the good parts off the 7 Edsels parked near his shop. Once we got the good stuff we were going to scrap the rest. He and I had been talking about doing that for almost 4 years. Bob was a joy to hang out with and talk about all our car projects. I always stayed longer than I planned. Hard to believe we had been doing that for over 20 years. He will be missed. Please send me your phone number and I will call you the next time I come thru Lugoff. I am so sorry to hear that Bob has left us. He was such a hard working, lively, spirited person. I fondly remember many Sunday dinners that ended with our congregating in Frances's den watching Wake Forest basketball. Tar Heel games were the most exciting! My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with the family. Rest in Peace Bob.
