Obituary of Mable Thompson Allen Gill

CAMDEN- A funeral service for Mable Thompson Allen Gill, 97, will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Camden First United Methodist Chuch with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Lena Allen Clark will officiate. A public viewing will be held on Friday from 2-5 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.

    Mrs. Gill, wife of the late Tom E. Gill, Sr., passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late James and Rose Lee Allen Thompson. Mrs. Gill was a member of North Columbia Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, canning, refinishing furniture and landscaping. When she was unable to complete yardwork, she would care for house plants.

    Surviving are her daughter, Mable Gill of the home; son, Tom E. Gill, Jr. (Cheryl) of Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren, Brianne Cherry Gill, Tom E. Gill III; a brother, John Thompson of Bronx, N.Y; and step-siblings, Albert James, Isaac James, Willie James, Easter James Stover and Freddie James. She was predeceased by siblings, James Thompson, Jr., Willie Thompson, George Thompson Elizabeth Thompson; and step-siblings, Hattie James, Napoleon James and John P. James.
