Obituary of Virginia Shivar Truesdale

CAMDEN - A celebration of life service for Virginia Shivar Truesdale, 93, will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Truesdale Family Cemetery. Pastor Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends 1hr prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wateree Pregnancy Network, 14 East DeKalb St., Camden, S.C. 29020.

    Mrs. Virginia Shivar Truesdale, 93, married to the late Lawton M. Truesdale for 68 years, died on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Born December 5, 1927, in Camden, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Lester and Bezelia Shivar. Mrs. Truesdale retired from Day ‘N’ Night Laundromat of Camden, S.C. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and serving her family with delicious food.

    As a very loving person, her favorite times were spent in the home with her family in Antioch. With true southern hospitality, her legacy will continue with her family and friends. Grace and strength were an example of a Christian lady who loved her family with patience and much laughter.

   Survivors include her son, James Truesdale (Nancy); daughter, Iva Baker (Robert); and daughters-in-law, Danielle Truesdale and Linda Truesdale. There were seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and precious canine, Tiger Lily. She was predeceased by sons, Ronger and Jody Truesdale.
