I am going to truly miss my telephone conversations with my Aunt Gladys. I didn't get to visit as much as I would have liked, but when I did they were wonderful. Her smile would light up a room. Thank you Aunt Gladys for being a true gem to our family and a wonderful Aunt to me and my family. Will miss you dearly.
FOR A SPECIAL AUNT
Aunt Gladys
There are Aunts to look up to,
Aunts who are wise,
Those who are good friends,
Those who advise...
There are Aunts who are lovable,
Aunts who are fun,
and then there is you...
You're all these in one.
Love You Always Aunt Gladys
Your Niece, Cassandra

When we are blessed with special people in our lives, their memories linger in our hearts forever. And so it is with you for me. You welcomed me as a guest musician at Camden Second Presbyterian, USA, with so much love, care and kindness. How I cherished our time together at lunch after worship, those scrumptious dinner your prepared in your kitchen, and our living room chats. You were an inspiration to all of us with you smile, graciousness, bible teachings and so much more. Among others, I will miss that loving smile, your encouragement, your warm spirit, your graciousness, your wisdom and our phone chats; but most of all YOU!. I pray that your legacy of love, laughter, graciousness, wisdom and God's love and peace will sustain your family, the church and us in your honor and memory throughout our lives.
I love you my "beautiful" Mrs. Jones

Aunt Gladys was the wife of my mother's older brother, Uncle Sammy. I cannot recall a time when she (a.k.a. “my Auntie Mom”) was not a part of my life. She was a second mom to me and to many others, and we all felt her love. She gave me my first vacation when I went to Washington, D. C. to spend a summer with her. Although she was maintaining a household with a young family, she took the time to also show me love, and share the historical national monuments, parks, and famous museums of Washington, D. C. She showed me her unbelievable strength of character. And she taught me how to giggle about simple things. I can still hear her giggling. What a teaser! I wish I could have seen her more in recent years after my frequent visits to her were cut short by a chronic debilitating illness and the pandemic. But I will always cherish our long phone conversations. She taught me so much about Jesus and about the practical things of life. She was a great inspiration and I am very proud to have called her my auntie mom. I will miss her greatly.

My dad was the brother of Aunt Glady’s husband Sammy. They were very close. What I remember is how much Aunt Gladys and my mom loved each other. They were more like sisters than in-laws. I remember traveling to their house in SC with mom and dad and there was nothing but joy, laughter, and love in the air. They talked on the phone constantly when apart too. And I always looked forward to seeing my cousins Val (RIP) and Lenny who has been a wonderful son and caregiver to his mom. Aunt Gladys called her own shots until she passed. Her love and strength were always an inspiration to me. RIP Aunt Gladys.
Love, Niece Diana Jones Ritter
