Obituary of Maurice Murff

CAMDEN – A service to celebrate the life of Maurice Jennings Murff, 67, will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, McBee.  The Rev. Joe Stines will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

    Mr. Murff passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021.  Born in Hartsville, he was the son of the late Richard Myers Murff Sr. and Christine Brinson Murff.  He retired from DuPont where he worked for over 30 years and recently retired from Werner Trucking where he received his one-million-mile award.  Maurice loved driving and traveled through 50 states.  He enjoyed restoring old cars, racing, golf and eating out in restaurants.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and entertaining his friends on facebook, “God Bless America”.

    Surviving are his son, Brett Murff of Lugoff; daughter, Megan Morrow (Jody) of Lugoff; brother, Gary Murff (Kathy) of Camden; grandchildren, Cody Morrow, Madison Morrow and Benjamin Morrow; niece, Ashley Murff; and nephews, Scott Murff and Richard Murff III.  He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Myers Murff, Jr.
