Obituary of James T. Clamp
SPARTANBURG – A memorial service to celebrate the life of James Thomas “Jay” Clamp, Jr., 66, will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. The family will receive friends following services at the home of Charles R. Dorsey, Jr. 2613 Furman Lane, Lake Worth, FL 33460.

Mr. Clamp died Saturday, September 22, 2012. Born in West Palm Beach, Fla., he was the son of the late James Thomas Clamp Sr. and Lillian Welborn Clamp. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology Degree from John B. Stetson University. He retired after 30 years in the insurance industry.
Mr. Clamp was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and woodworking. He was a member of the Revolutionary Historical Association and the Opal Gem Society and was a history buff who enjoyed genealogy.
Jay’s zeal for life was felt by all who knew him as he cared for the well being of humanity. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Linda E. Clamp; son, Dr. Michael Forest Clamp (Dr. Courtney Whitehurst Clamp) of California; daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Walters of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother-in-law, Charles R. Dorsey, Jr. (Carol) of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Dorsey.
