We were neighbors for a few years, and I was so saddened to hear of Jay's death. Linda, my thoughts are with you. I will never forget the precious time he spent with Eric as a baby, and now, that baby who is 12 years old told me he remembered the sunflowers in your backyard and looking at them with Jay. What a wonderful man!
Love,
Caroline, Adam, Eric, and Alexander

God Bless you and your family in these difficult times. I know that Jay is at peace with God and feels his abundant love.

Although we met face to face only a few short years ago, I am fortunate to have had the privilege of getting to know "Cousin" Jay. His interest in geneology and family history taught me how closely we were related to each other. Our conversations were unfinished. There were many more questions I wanted to ask. I hope we can continue where we left off when I see him again on the other side. Cousin Heyward

I am struggling with what to say, Linda as i know that no words will offer comfort at this time. But please know that there are a lot of us here in Spartanburg that are thinking of you and your family and praying for all of you that God will give you strength to get through this. Jay was such a precious, precious man. Do you remember when he helped put my vacuum cleaner together? So, you will understand why I burst out crying when i looked at my vacuum cleaner! I will never forget his kindness and I pray that the Lord will comfort you and see you through these dark days. And yes, when you return home, we'll be looking forward to holding you up and just being here for you to lean on! Love you, Jan

I knew Jay for too short of a period--just a few years. But it was one of the great friendships of my life. We e mailed each other almost daily and "skyped" each other monthly. In fact on the day prior to his untimely passing we had "skyped" for at least half an hour--discussing our families and laughing at politicians.
In 2007 I spent several days in the home of Linda and Jay in Spartantrburg. Those few days are among my fondest memories. Jay was my cousin and close friend. I will miss him in a way that is diferent from the missing of others because of the knid of man that he was. With his passing, the world becomes a lesser place.
May God give you strength and comfort in this most difficult of times.

So shocked to learn about Jay's demise. I met him once at the Clamp reunion when Elma Clamp was in South Carolina to see and meet many of his relatives in the midland. He impressed me in a most positive manner and made me feel proud to have such a nice relative. May God be with his family during these trying times and God bless all.
