CAMDEN – Funeral service for Carolyn Patricia Allen, 71, will be held on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at Sanders Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home and a memorial service conducted by the Eastern Star on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Allen passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2016. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Walter Allen Sr. and Evangelist T.D. Patterson Allen. She retired from the Kershaw County Detention Center and was a member of the Eastern Star Composite Lodge 227. Surviving are her son, Ronald C. Allen; sisters, Hattie A. Lewis, Rev. Sis Maria A. Pugh, Jessie Hardy and Eva Allen; brothers, Rev. Walter Allen Jr., Edward Allen, Jimmie Lee Allen and Robert Allen; and a host of nieces and nephews.
