REMBERT – Funeral service for Ruth Andrade, 84, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Meyer-Thiel Animal Adoption Center. Mrs. Andrade passed away at home on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Born in New Bedford, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Augusto and Maria Albina DeSousa Almeida. She enjoyed sewing, stitching, cake decorating, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Paulo Andrade; daughter's Geraldine M. DeSousa of Cassatt and Christine R. Andrade of Rembert; son-in-law, Luis DeSousa of Cassatt; and granddaughter, Chloe DeSousa. She was predeceased by a sister and 4 brothers.
