RIDGEWAY – A visitation for William Howard Poteat, 71, will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. There will be a time of sharing at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Poteat passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Born in N.C., he was a son of the late William Thomas and Hazel Seymore Poteat. Mr. Poteat retired from Hansen International after 20 plus years. He enjoyed building things, the outdoors, including hunting and fishing, and especially working on cars. Surviving are daughter, Angelica Poteat of Columbia; grandchildren, Christopher Greene, Andrew Goodwin, Matthew Curry, Taylor Curry, Alexandria Reece, Nicholas Reece, Kimberly Reece; and sisters, Sue Sanderson of Canada, Helen Trussell of N.C., and Nylah Shenk of N.C.; 3 great-grandchildren; and 7 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Tracey Poteat; and siblings, Joyce Weant and Michael Poteat.
