ELGIN – Graveside service with military honors for Thomas Douglas Baldwin, 71, will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Baldwin passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Born in Mt. Airy, N.C., he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Stella Mae Hicks Baldwin. He retired from The United States Army and served in Vietnam. He enjoyed remote control airplanes, restoring old cars, music and gardening. Surviving are his wife, Florence May Spencer Baldwin; children, Sandra Lee Edwards (William), Donna Jo Baldwin, and Diana Baldwin; sisters, Kaye Jones and Linda Reynolds; and grandchildren, Sarah Edwards and Diana Chavis. He was predeceased by sisters, Peggy Davis, Barbara Castor and Nancy Childress; and brothers, John Baldwin, Edward Baldwin, Joe Baldwin and Jack Baldwin.
