LUGOFF – Funeral service for Mary Ruth Watson Whitehouse, 89, will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Charles Everett will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Christian Community Ministries Mrs. Whitehouse, wife of the late Charles N. Whitehouse Sr., died on Thursday Morning, May 5, 2016. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late John Herbert and Ada Barfield Watson. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the WMU. She volunteered with Kershaw County Medical Center and Christian Community Ministries. Mrs. Whitehouse was also a member of the Lugoff-Elgin Order of the Eastern Star 298. She enjoyed golfing and sewing. Surviving are her son, Charles Nathan Whitehouse Jr. (Betsy) of Camden; daughter, Cindy W. Touchton of Lugoff; grandchildren, Charles E. “Chip” Arrington (Regina), Robert Whitehouse (Angela), Todd Whitehouse (Mary), Eric Whitehouse (Candice), and Lindsay M. Touchton; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Earl Watson and Robert Watson; and sister, Esther Waters.
