CASSATT – A memorial service for Johnnie Frank Elliott, 80, will be held Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Barrett will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project. Mr. Elliott passed away Friday, April 29, 2016. Born in San Augustine, TX, he was a son of the late Arllie H. Elliott and Katherine Thomas Higgins. Mr. Elliott retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service, including two tours in Vietnam, and receiving the bronze star. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, and he loved his dogs. Surviving are his son, James A. Elliott (Nancy) of Stratham, NH; daughter, Debra Lynn Elliott of Cassatt; grandchildren; Chelesa Chambers (John) of Clearwater, FL, Mikaela Elliott of Stratham, NH, Chris Kelly of Lugoff, and Justin Kelly of Cassatt; and siblings, Teresa Sellers (David) and Patricia Fernandez.
