LUGOFF – A private family service for Roy Samuel Weed, 90, will be held at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Mr. Weed, husband of the late Ruth Martin Weed, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016. Born in Lexington, he was the son of the late Arthur F. and Lottie Arnold Weed. He served in the United States Army during WW II. He was a Mason and enjoyed traveling and stock car racing. Surviving are his daughters, Brenda Rodgers (Ron) of Gilbert and Janice Floyd of Lugoff; brother, Ray Weed (Rachel) of Columbia; sister, Loretta W. Mielke (Hermie) of Columbia; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his second wife, Sondra Painter Weed; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers.
