LUGOFF – A time of gathering to celebrate the life of Michael Edward Knopp, Sr., 67, will be held Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Clendenin, WV. Mr. Knopp died Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Born in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Madlyn June Knopp. Mr. Knopp was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a pilot and was a fan of all sports. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Katherine Wheatley Knopp; children, Michael Knopp, Jr. (Sandy), David Chandler (Desiree), Phillip Knopp (Tabatha), Jessica Poe, Stephanie Stockman (Belton), and Michael Knopp; 19 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Deborah Lucas (John). He was predeceased by a sister, Vada Murdock.
