ELGIN– A celebration of life service for Doris Ann Honeycutt Hastings, 78, will be held Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at Rowan Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Stephen Jordan and the Rev. Phil McCoy will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rowan Presbyterian Church at 818 Ridgeway Rd, Lugoff, SC 29078. Mrs. Hastings, wife of the late Jack Madison Hastings, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016. Born in Hickory, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Edgar L. Honeycutt and Mildred Knox Millen. Mrs. Hastings was a member of Rowan Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Primetimers and Golden Girls Groups and a former member of the High-Steppers square dancing group. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend Carol Taylor, dancing, music, singing, reading, and doing puzzles. Surviving are her daughters, Laura Smith (Tom) of Ellicott City, MD, Diane Lundy (Gordon) of Annapolis, MD, Jackie Snell (Bob) of Elgin; son, Mark Hastings (Heather) of Lugoff; sister, Ginger Carr (Don) of Dade City, FL; brother, Ken Honeycutt (Gail) of Trinity, N.C.; and 6 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Pearson.
