CAMDEN – Funeral service for Jeff D. Price, Jr., 84, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Camden with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Meyer-Thiel Animal Adoption Center or KershawHealth Hospice Mr. Price passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late Jeff D. Price Sr. and Callie Freeman Price. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Mr. Price also owned and operated Price Heating and Cooling and Price Nursery. He was a member of the American Legion Post 17 and was an avid Gamecock fan and loyal supporter of the Camden Bulldog Club. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Ann Boan Price; children, David Price III (Gena), Wendy Jackson (Randy) of Camden, Lynne West (Dennis) of Cassatt, and Cynthia Price of Florida; step-children, Felicia Elliott (Phil) of Camden and John Charles Boan (Gladys) of Florida; brother, Mechie Price; sisters, Peggy Gunter and Patricia Morton; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his beloved cat, “Bojangles”. He was predeceased by an infant daughter; brothers, Henry Price, Elwood Price and Don Price; sisters, Rose Parker, Mary Munn, and Judy Stokes; and grandson, Christopher Stone. The family extends a special thanks to Jeanae McDonald, Kelly Davis and KershawHealth Hospice for their loving care.
