Elgin – A time of gathering to celebrate the life of David Ernest Jones, 71, will be held Wednesday at Powers Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Mr. Jones passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016. Born in Portsmouth, N.H., he was a son of the late Burleigh J. and Gertrude Goodman Jones. Mr. Jones enjoyed golfing and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Betty Rabon Jones; sons, Donald Sapp (Sharon), David Jones (Heather), Joseph Jones (Cindy); sisters, Evelyn Ayers, Geraldine Bryant (Billy); 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Bradford Jones, Richard Jones; and a sister, Norma Rumore.
