LUGOFF – A time of gathering to celebrate the life of Danny James Ray, 74, will be held on Saturday from 3:00-5:00 p. m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church. Mr. Ray passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Alex and Anna Spradley Ray. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising chickens and pigs. Surviving are his wife 49 years, Delora Layne Baugh Ray; daughters, Donna Glassman (Steve), Brandi Nettles (Mickey) and Robyn Ray; son, Jonathan Ray; sisters, Essie Taylor and Wila Mae Boulware; and grandchildren, Lexi, Cami, Kali, Justin, Drew and Keaton. He was predeceased by brothers, Dunnie, Colie, Albert, Billy Jack and Sidney Ray; and sisters, Rosa Lee Petticord and Elizabeth Hutchinson.
