ELGIN – A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mr. Hinson died Thursday, January 7, 2015. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late John Talmadge and Mimie Mattox Hinson. He served in the United States Army and retired from Thermoid. He was an avid NASCAR fan and gun enthusiast. Surviving are his daughters, Rosa Mills (Kevin) of Columbia and Kathy Cabrales of Lugoff; sister, Emily Maude Watts; brother, Clyde Hinson; favorite wife, Rosie Hinson; friend, Dorothy Privette; grandchildren, Olivia and A.J. Cabrales, Lorenzo Simon and Kaitlyn Wheeler; a great-granddaughter, Alice Rayne Green; and Angus, Henry, and Archie Mills.
