Elgin- Funeral Services for Mary Ellen Davis McPherson, 82, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Olin Kirkland and the Rev. Tim Burleson will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church. Mrs. McPherson, wife of the late Norwood “Bootie” McPherson, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Katie Sanders Davis. Mrs. McPherson was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and worked for Hammy’s for over 26 years. She enjoyed couponing, yardsales, shopping, and spending time with her family. Surviving are her daughters, Patricia M. Ford (Jimmy Ray) of Lugoff, Nancy M. Richbourg (Charles) of Camden; grandchildren, Crystal Brazell (Danny), Tiffany Rabon (Tony), Trista Zemp (Dewitt), Brandon Richbourg (Rebecca); and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Chase and Braden Brazell, Wade and Malorie Rabon, Gracen Thompson, and Claire and Emma Zemp. She was predeceased by siblings, John Davis, Bill Davis, Bud Davis, Lizzie Mae Tucker, Louise Lee, and Jack Davis.
