CAMDEN – A memorial service for William Ashley Boykin, 79, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Beulah United Methodist church Cemetery Fund, 820 Beulah Church Road, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mr. Boykin died Saturday, January 12, 2013. Born in Sumter, he was the son of the late Claude Belvin and Selma Floyd Boykin. He retired from DuPont and was a member of Camden Christian Fellowship. He was a former member of Optimist Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife, India Reeves Boykin; daughters, Jackie Boykin Davis (Wayne) of McCormick, S.C. and Danielle Boykin Truesdale (Jody) of Camden; son, William A. Boykin Jr. (JoAnne) of McDonough, Ga., Brett Boykin (Alicia) of Clover and Chris Boykin (Erica) of Camden; and 19 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Claudia Diane Boykin; sisters, Sarah Barnes, Virginia Ives, and Margaret Boykin; and brothers, Mike Boykin and Ray Boykin
