Obituary of Jesse Darity
CAMDEN – Funeral services for Jesse Darity, Jr., 82, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Wallace will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Mr. Darity passed away Tuesday, December 08, 2015. Born in Lee County, He was a son of the late Jesse, Sr. and Pearl Conyers Darity. Mr. Darity retired as a Sergeant First Class from the U.S. Army National Guard after 33 years of service. He was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and Attended Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. He had a passion for riding his Harley and was a part of the Trinity Motorcycle Club. He rode his bike through 48 states, Mexico, Canada, and Nova Scotia.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Darity; sons, Danny Darity (Kathy) of McGee Town, Scott Jordan (Shirley) of Elgin; grandchildren, Christi Bernard (Ken), Stacy Mathis (Jake), Ashley Melton (Bruce), and Christopher, Andrew “Brodie”, and Emily Jordan; great-grandchildren, Alex and Kara Bernard, Samuel Mathis,; and a sister, Judy Houck (Julius). He was predeceased by a son, Tommy Darity; brothers, Brack Darity, Bobby Darity; and sister, Thelma Galloway, Lucille Darlin, and Lorene Watts.
