LUGOFF – Funeral services for Oliver Eugene Medlin, 80, will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Eric Boone, Rev. Stephen Jordan, and the Rev. Phil McCoy will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Compassionate Care Hospice. Mr. Medlin passed away Monday, November 16, 2015. Born in Pontiac, he was a son of the late Charles William and Laura Ford Medlin. “Big O” retired from Fluor Daniel Construction after 23 years and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and camping. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Medlin; daughter, Lee Ann Medlin Bauer (Peter) of League City, TX; granddaughter, Olivia Caroline Davis; and a brother, James Medlin (Eunice). He was predeceased by a daughter, Olivia Jean Medlin; sisters, Beatrice Hill, Gertrude Powell, Katie Williams, Doris Andrews, Betty Lou Stanley, Earline Driggers, Sally Infinger; and brothers, Irvin Medlin, Marvin Medlin, and Otis Medlin.
