Obituary of Dewitt Peake

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Olin Dewitt Peake Jr., 56, will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Doug Whitfield and the Rev. Johnny Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church AWANA Program, Puppet Ministry and Youth Ministry, 836 Pine Grove Road, Lugoff, S.C. 29078. Mr. Peake died Friday, January 11, 2013. Born in Camden, he was the son of Minnie Gardner Peake and the late Olin Dewitt Peake Sr. He worked for F.N. Manufacturing and was a volunteer Fireman and First Responder with Pine Grove Fire Department. Mr. Peake was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, AWANA Leader, Sunday School teacher, RA Leader and puppet ministry.. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and archery. He loved spending time with family especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Ronda Lynn Goff Peake; mother, Minnie Peake of Lugoff; daughters, Kristi Lyn Peake of Lugoff, Lyndi Jill Whitfield (Matthew) of Lugoff, and Hailie Jean Peake of Lugoff; sons, Joshua Dewitt Peake of Columbia and Jared Hunter Peake of Lugoff; sisters, Teresa Watkins (Billy) of Lugoff, Darlene Hudson (Jackie) of Lugoff, Jenny Stockman (Robbie) of Lugoff, and Amy Twitty (Mike) of Lugoff; and grandchildren, Wyatt Whitfield, Mason Dewitt Whitfield and Molly Kassidy Whitfield.
