FLORENCE – Graveside service for Elma Rose Hester, 97, will be held on Monday, Nov 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Mrs. Hester, wife of the late William L. Hester, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Wednesday evening, October 28, 2015. Born in Louisville, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Esma Yocom. She enjoyed reading and sewing. Surviving are her children, William L. Hester, Jr. (Faye) of Florence, and Barbara Gayle Lewis (Larry) of Tallahassee, Fla.; sister, Elizabeth “Doll” Helm of Kentucky; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Judith Rose Bass.
