BETHUNE – Funeral services for Lettie Mae Baskin, 75, will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Hill Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Elrich Vance will officiate. Mrs. Baskin passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Born in Bethune, she was a daughter of the late Moses Shepard and Frances Jackson Simon. Mrs. Baskin was a member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church, where she was a deaconess and did missionary work. She enjoyed reading, church activities, and especially playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Chover John Baskin; sons, Calvin Baskin (Avis), Clifton Baskin, Rhenard Baskin (Fanchon) all of Bethune, Rodney Baskin of Camden; daughters, Dedra Baskin of Camden, Cicely Baskin of Bethune; brother, James Simon (Jessie) of Bethune; sister, Joan Hudson of Sumter; grandchildren, Rhenard, Dimaggio, Courtney, Shona, Zhane, Kiyomi, Martel, Christian, Rylan; and great-grandchildren, Aniyah, Josiah, Kayden, Serenity, and Zaiden. She was predeceased by a sister, Elloise Johnson.
