ELGIN – Funeral service for Edie Rue Lowery Cox Collins, 73, will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Charles Everett will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the America Heart Association. Mrs. Collins, wife of the late Jim W. Collins, died Sunday, January 6, 2013. Born in Tabor City, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Montgumery George and Gladys Ethel Suggs Lowery. Surviving are her daughters, Patricia Lynn Cox Neumann (Ronald) of Forest Acres and Wendy Gail Cox Wolfe (Eddie) of Columbia; sister, Jeanette Duncan of Tabor City, N.C.; brother, Harold Lowery of Nakina, N.C.; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Dannie Jenkins Cox and Carland Ronald Cox; brothers, Davis Lowery and Otis Lowery; and sisters, Carolyn Graham and Sadie Tucker.
