Obituary of Marjorie Knowles Garber
CAMDEN- Marg Garber, a wife, mother, sister, friend, and a believer in Christ, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 2. She was 91 years old.
The youngest of 8 children in Lynchburg, Virginia, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Charles Garber, her mother Cora Knowles, father John Knowles, sisters Mae, Tillie, and Mildred, and brothers Bernard, Claude, Harry, and John.
Marg is survived by 3 sons, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great granddaughters: the eldest son Michael (Donna) of Lugoff, and their four children Hannah, David (Leena), Stephen (Libet) and daughter Maria Ester, and Joseph; the middle son Mark of Franklin, NC, his son Curt (Amanda) and daughter Reese; the youngest son John (Leslie) of Spartanburg and two children, MaryNell (Matthew) and John Charles; many nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friend, Margaret Knowles Wiseman of Naples, Florida.
She was a resident of Camden, SC since 1950 and an active member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed being involved in her church, reading the Bible, camping, traveling, and spending time visiting family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Camden. The Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church Fellowship Hall.
Marg will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery beside her husband. Memorial donations for Marjorie may be directed to First Baptist Church, Camden, International Missions.
