CAMDEN – Funeral service for Anita S. Jeffords, 81, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Camden with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, 1201 Broad Street, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mrs. Jeffords died Sunday, January 6, 2013. Born in Rome, GA, she was the daughter of Millard E. and Elma King Simpson. She retired from Kershaw County Government Center and was a member of First Baptist Church where she stayed actively involved until her illness. Mrs. Jeffords was a member of the Eastern Star and Shrine Club Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, John Wesley Jeffords; sons, John Wesley Jeffords II (MaryBeth T.) of Irmo and Brian S. Jeffords (Allison) of Lugoff; daughters, Sheila J. Hall (Dale) of Lugoff and Valerie Jeffords of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Rebecca Hall Kopp (Martin), Benjamin Hall, Grayson Jeffords, Ansley Jeffords, Carson Jeffords and Kaia Imray; and great-grandchildren, Abigail Kopp and Max Kopp. She was predeceased by brothers, Newton and Bobby Drew Simpson; and grandson, Jonathan Hall.
