Columbia- A funeral service for Helga Leni Thieme Hogue, 79, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home of Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Diane Parker will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Animal Protection League of S.C. or PETSinc of S.C. Mrs. Hogue, wife of the late Thomas Francis Hogue, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Born in Zwickau, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Lisbeth Jaeger Thieme. Mrs. Hogue enjoyed gardening, doing word puzzles, and watching TV. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Cowart (Wayne) of Hopkins; sons, Robert Hogue (Teresa) of Rock Hill, and Thomas Hogue (Kathy) of Elgin; a daughter-in-law, Rhondie Japarks of Randleman, N.C.; sisters, Traudel Penning and Renate Thieme; brother, Peter Thieme all of Germany; 10 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Hogue; son, Patrick Hogue; daughter, Lisbeth Hogue; and a sister, Margot Sphon.
