LUGOFF – Funeral service for William Franklin Baker, Jr., 87, will be held on Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Monday at 12:00 p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Mr. Baker, husband of the late Anna Mack Baker, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Born in Westville, he was the son of the late William Franklin Baker Sr. and Lottie Jane Peach Baker. He retired from the United States Navy in 1968 after serving 20 years and served in Korea. Surviving are his sons, William Everett Baker (Wanda) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Richard Franklin Baker of Atkins, Iowa; 3 grandchildren; and 1 step-grandchild. He was predeceased by brothers, Palmer, Eugene, Theopolis and Harvey Baker; and sisters, Grace Hunter, Mable Coates, Annie Baker, Minnie Peach, Blanche Bowers, Myrtle Hearon and Lucille Baker.
