ELGIN – Funeral service for Joseph Allan “Joe” Martin, 29, will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Miles and the Rev. Brian Hunt will officiate. The family will receive friends following the burial in the church fellowship hall. Joe passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Joseph Dwight “Joey” and Ursula Charlene Shelley Martin. He was a HVAC Technician with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. He enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, golfing, drag racing and grilling with family and friends. Surviving are his significant other, Kacy Ely of Elgin; daughter, Sophia Rose Martin; parents, Joey and Charlene Martin of Lugoff; sister, Megan Marie Martin of Lugoff; paternal grandmother, Joyce R. Martin; aunt, Nancy Ann Martin; uncles, Ricky James Martin, Thomas W. Martin and Gary Stevens; and a cousin, Brittany Lee Stevens. He was predeceased by paternal grandfather, White Martin; maternal grandparents, Rosalee Shelley and Charles Allan Shelley; and aunt, Virginia Lee Stevens.
