ELGIN – Funeral service for Ida L. Obey, 90, will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Clark Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mrs. Obey passed away at home on Monday, June 1, 2015. Born in Blaney, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lizzie Counts Gripper. Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Gould of Elgin; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Stanley Obey; 3 sisters, and 6 brothers.
