LAKE WATEREE – Funeral service for Donald Lee Buchanan, Sr., 72, will be held on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at Springvale Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Dr # 301, Cayce, SC 29033. Mr. Buchanan passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Born in Cleburne County, Ala., he was the son of the late Edgar Buchanan and Dola Otwell Presnal. He served in the United States Army and retired from Union Camp now International Paper. He was a member of Springvale Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Johnnie Ayers Buchanan; daughter, Darlene Horton (Roger) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sons, Dennis Buchanan (Dania) of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Donald Lee Buchanan Jr. (Sonia) of Lake Wateree, and David Buchanan (Kela) of Lake Wateree; brothers, Felton Buchanan and Bobby Presnal; sisters, Star Richardson, Patricia Ivey, Pat Buchanan and Gail Wadell; and 9 grandchildren.
