ELGIN – Funeral service for Charles Carroll Catoe, 76, will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Springvale Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Springvale Baptist Church Building Fund, 1496 Springvale Road, Lugoff, SC 29078. Mr. Catoe passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Born in the Red Hill Community of Lee County, he was the son of the late Thomas W. and Sadie Boykin Catoe. He served in the United States Army National Guard and retired from SCDOT. He was a member of the Blythewood Masonic Lodge and Springvale Baptist Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed restoring old cars. Surviving are his wife, Betty Childers Catoe; son, William Joey Dodds of Elgin; daughters, Sheri Patton of Lugoff, Christi Catoe of Columbia, and Pamela Catoe (Chad) of Blythewood; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
