LUGOFF – Funeral service for Johnny Wayne Owens, 67, will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Camden with burial to follow in Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Flint Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Owens passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015. Born in Camden, S.C., he was the son of the late Johnnie William Owens and Eula Smyrl Bair. He served in the United States Army and retired as Frito Lay Salesman and was currently a life insurance agent. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Wateree Bass Masters. He loved spending time with his family and adored his granddaughter. Surviving are his wife, Cecil Auker Owens; daughters, Cassi Love Owens-Platt (Craig) of Spartanburg and Cortney Hearon Owens (Beloved Dog, “Fischer”) of Pinehurst, N.C.; stepdaughters, Ashleigh Langley (Terry) of Lugoff and Heather Blizzard (Larry Branham) of Camden; sister, Virginia Horton of Camden; brother, David Owens of Lugoff; and granddaughter, Makana Grace Platt.
