LUGOFF – Funeral service for Michael Richard Hornsby, 66, will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Foundation. Mr. Hornsby died Saturday, May 23, 2015. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Joe Hornsby Sr. and Marie Bowers Hornsby. He served in the United States Army in Korea. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Linda Twitty Hornsby; son, Adam Michael Hornsby of Lugoff; brother, Joe Hornsby Jr. He was predeceased by brothers, W.L. Hornsby and Paul Hornsby; and sisters, Mary Ruth Watts and Sylvia Smith. A rhymer and a singer of songs...... I am my beloved’s....... My beloved is mine.
