Alan and I were very good friends. We grew up together as Army brats. Played football,baseball, hunted and fished a lot as we grew up. He and I hunted pheasants in Nebraska,hunted and fished in Alabama, Florida and SC. Alan showed me the hunting areas in and around Lake Wateree, particularly Colonel Creek in 1975. We had a great time together and enjoyed going to the "Wateree Sport Shop" and "Starnes Point" more than once. You would call Alan an original "Wateree River Rat." Will truly miss Alan. I wished we had more time with him.
