CAMDEN – Funeral service for Christy Kennington Baker, 68, will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Bethel Worship Center with burial to follow in Mount Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mrs. Baker passed on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Providence Hospital. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Melvin DuBose Kennington Sr. and Alice DeBruhl Kennington. She retired from DuPont and was a member of Camden Southern Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing and was a member of All For One Quartet. Mrs. Baker treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Homer Clayton Baker; sons, Bobby Little Jr. (Deborah) of Rembert, and Gary Little of Camden; daughters, Kristal Leaird (Stephen) of Camden and Alison McCaskill (Michael) of Camden; and 7 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Charlene Denise Little; brother, Melvin D. Kennington Jr.; and sister, Faith Sanders.
