SUMMERVILLE – Funeral service for Angel Gilchrist Burgess, 37, will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Ken Jumper will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter, 460 Fair Street, Camden, S.C 29020. Angel passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Born in Sumter, S.C., on August 4, 1977, she was the daughter of Michael Chandler and Linda Louise Twombley Gilchrist. She was a 1995 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School and attended Midlands Technical College. She enjoyed Geocaching, fishing and crafts. She was a member of The Harvest Church in Lexington. She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Michael Brian Burgess; her parents, Michael and Linda Gilchrist of Elgin; children, Victoria Burgess and Seth Burgess of Packlet, S.C. and Drew Burgess of the home; and sisters, April Thomas (Eric) of Lakeland, Fla. And Michelle Marcus (Glenn) of Perrysburg, Ohio.
