LUGOFF – Funeral service for Mary Ruth Hornsby Watts, 81, will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Springvale Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mrs. Watts passed away at home on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Born in Westville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph English and Marie Bowers Hornsby. She was a retired floral designer and was a member of Springvale Baptist Church and the Winsome Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, gardening, floral designing and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Jack Floyd Watts Sr.; daughter, Debra W. Goff (Dean) of Elgin; sons, Jack F. “Jacky” Watts Jr. (Tonya) of Lugoff and Mark R. Watts (Donna) of Lugoff; brothers, Joe Hornsby Jr. and Michael Hornsby; sister, Sylvia Smith; grandchildren, Hollie Watts McCluney (Brad), Michael Cody Watts (Kendall), Mark Reed Watts and Lauren Elizabeth Watts; and great-grandchildren, Owen McCluney and Annabelle Watts. She was predeceased by brothers, W.L. Hornsby and Paul Hornsby.
