ELGIN – Funeral service for Iris McCants Porter, 69, will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Porter Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Miss Porter passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Born in Blaney, she was the daughter of the late Arnold McCants and Mildred Rabon Porter. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. Surviving are her brothers, Benjamin A. Porter (Sylvia) of Elgin and William R. Porter of Elgin; sister, Mary Frances Knowles of Florida; and nieces and nephews.
