LUGOFF – Funeral service for Geneva Ray Hinson, 80, will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at El-Bethel Faith Community Church with burial to follow in Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Kershaw County, 647 Lachicotte Road, Lugoff, SC 29078. Mrs. Hinson passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at home with her family by her side. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Emily Jackson Ray. She was a member of El-Bethel Faith Community Church. She enjoyed canning, gardening, camping and most of all spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband, Floyd Hinson; daughter, Deborah Smith Moak of Lugoff; son, Mark Smith of Lugoff; step-children, Linda Horton (Douglas) of Lugoff, Dean Hinson (Tracey) of Easley, and Patty Peterson (Kevin) of Elgin; 3 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
