ELGIN – Funeral service for Jimmie Dillard Rose, 76, will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. George Cashwell will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, PO Box 664, Lugoff, S.C. 29078 or the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Dr # 301, Cayce, SC 29033. Mrs. Rose passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Palmetto Health Richland. Born in Blaney, she was the daughter of the late John Coker and Ella Branham Coker. She retired from Blaney Elementary with over 30 years of service and served on the Kershaw County School Board for 10 years. Mrs. Rose was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed working in the churches she attended and was a former Sunday School teacher and a member of WMU. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Arlin D. Rose; daughters, Donna Rose Hunt of Elgin and Christine Rose Kelley (Michael) of Elgin; sister, Betty Dillard of Mt. Pleasant; grandson, Jonathan Hunt (Lauren); and great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Caleb Hunt. She was predeceased by her biological father, James E. Dillard.
